Summer has been so busy, and lately I have felt a little behind and unorganized. Recently one of my goals has been to start a new morning routine. Starting the day off right and not in a rush makes all the difference for me. My goal is to have a simple morning routine that I enjoy and look forward to. I love getting up before everyone else and enjoying a little peace and quiet to start the day.
When planning your morning routine, reflect on the things that make mornings more enjoyable for you. Do you love to start the day with a devotion, or do want to have time to enjoy a cup of coffee on the porch? Plan your favorite thing first in your morning routine. You will be more likely to get up if you have something to look forward to.
Also, think about the things you could do to help mornings run more smoothly for your family. With the school year right around the corner, kids need a good routine that isn’t rushed. Could you fix lunches, make breakfast, or get yourself ready so the bathroom is available when everyone else gets up?
It is also a good idea to plan out the rest of your day. Look at your planner and see what you have on the schedule so that you can be prepared.
I am still playing around with my morning routine to see what works best for me. This is my current morning routine goal:
- 5:00am- Get up/ fix a cup of coffee
- 5:05am- Read Devotion/Pray
- 5:20am-Protein Shake
- 5:30am-Write blog post/work Arbonne business/workout (depending on my needs)
- 6:00am-Feed animals
- 6:05am-Shower/Get Ready
- 6:50am-Leave for work
- 7:00am-Listen to Audible book or podcast on commute
So far it is working smoothly. I had to slowly train myself to get up a little bit earlier each day until I was able to get up at 5am. Believe it or not, getting up earlier and starting the day right makes me feel more energized and ready to take on the day. I am much more productive and get more done in a day! I love it!
I would love to hear your morning routine, feel free to share in the comments!
