Strength & Dignity: A Proverb 31 Woman {Part 9}

In part 9 of this series we look at verse 18.  The verse says: She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.  I know you are probably thinking, how in the world does the Proverbs 31 woman get up really early, do all her work, and then go to bed late.  Remember that she did not do all these things in one day.  They were things she did over her lifetime.

Managing Your Career, Home, and Motherhood with Grace and Grit

Managing your career, home, and motherhood can be so overwhelming.  Most days it can feel like you are drowning in overwhelm and stress.  You have a long to-do list at work and a long to-do list at home.  You have people that need you at work and your family and children that need you at home.  You work all day just to come home and work some more.  Trust me, I get it! How in the world do you find the energy and time to do ALL the things?  To keep going. To not fall into a depressed state of mind.  I promise that you can find happiness and fulfillment while managing your career, home, and motherhood.  You have to be willing to grow, change, evolve, and put in some work in order to get the life you long for.

Strength & Dignity: A Proverb 31 Woman {Part 8}

In part 8 of this series we look at verse 17.  The verse says: she sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.  The good wife is a hard worker.  She does her work well.  She rolls up her sleeves and gets things done.  She does not take her tasks lightly.  This reminds of  Colossians 3:23: In all the work you are doing, work the best you can. Work as if you were doing it for the Lord, not for people.

Strength & Dignity: A Proverb 31 Woman {Part 7}

In part 7 of this series we look at verse 16.  The verse says: She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.  So the good wife is also a business woman.  She is careful to invest her money wisely so that it can provide income for her family.  The good wife has good business sense.  I wonder if it was her dream to own a vineyard?  I know we all have our own dreams and aspirations, and maybe we feel like we don’t have the time or money to accomplish them.  The timing just might not be right.

Grocery Shopping Tips

I wanted to share a few basic grocery shopping tips that can help save you time and money.  By just doing a few simple tasks, you can gain a lot of benefits.  No crazy couponing or going from store to store to find the best deal.  Just simple, easy to implement practices.  It may seem like it won’t save you a lot of money at one time, but it adds up fast.  I cut our grocery bill in half this past month just by doing a little extra planning.

Strength & Dignity: A Proverbs 31 Woman {Part 6}

Part 6 of this series looks at verse 15.  The verse says: She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants.  This verse can seem very daunting.  Getting up really early.  Cooking breakfast and preparing lunches for everyone.  Starting work for the day.  All while everyone else is still sleeping?  Sounds exhausting right?

Strength & Dignity: A Proverbs 31 Woman {Part 5}

Part 5 of the Strength and Dignity series looks at verse 14.  This verse says: she is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.  If you apply this verse into today’s terms, it would most likely mean grocery shopping and preparing meals.  Both of these tasks can be pretty daunting, especially when you have little ones to wrangle at the same time.
